REAL ESTATE IN EDINA, MN
HOMES FOR SALE IN THE MORNINGSIDE NEIGHBORHOOD
The Morningside neighborhood is the first suburban development in Edina, which occurred during the early 1900s. Morningside was located in the northeastern part of the village. As the development grew, conflict began to rise between residents. Some residents wanted more city services, while the rest of the village wanted to maintain the rural character that Edina had. As a result, Morningside seceded from Edina in 1920, but eventually in 1966, became part of Edina once again.
The Morningside neighborhood in Edina is located just north of the well-known Edina Country Club neighborhood, as well as the White Oaks neighborhood. The Morningside neighborhood developed during the 1930’s, alongside the street car system that ran on 44th Street. There are many different housing options available in this area. Classic bungalows, 1950’s ramblers and old 1.5 story and two story homes make up this remarkable neighborhood. As with many other walkable, beautiful areas like the Arden Park and Golf Terrace Heights neighborhoods, there are many new construction homes that have replaced older houses.
Morningside home prices range from $350,000 to $1,4000. The average sales price is $628,000 and the median sales price is $493,000. With a sidewalk system in place, this neighborhood is extremely walkable. There are two major parks nearby: Kojetin Park and Weber Park. Weber Woods is an amazing place to enjoy nature, walk the dogs, and allow children to play. Residents of the Morningside neighborhood in Edina have easy access to retail and restaurant options at 44th & France, as well as 50th & France. With so many amazing amenities in this tight-knit, family-friendly neighborhood, who wouldn’t want to call this special place home?
